| Hello friends,
I need a set of new front wipers for my '91 Caprice because they're screaming like %$#$ when it's raining. Which ones do you guys need? I want to spend good money on them because I really want them to be silent. I see several whipers at Rockauto but what's a good brand and good quality? And is there a difference between left and right wipers?

| right now I have a set of Trico ICE blades on my Buick, but they aren't that old yet as I got them just before winter started here in Wisconsin, otherwise I have had fairly good luck with Rainx brand beam style wipers, added bonus is that most of them also put the rainx coating on the windshield as you use the wipers, so there have been numerous times when I didn't even need to use wipers in the rain because of it. But thats when I could find ones that would fit properly on the pin style wiper arms, as some of the Rainx beam wipers the adapter is too wide to properly fit for the pin style arms even though the company says they fit fine.
trico ice, trico part number would be 35220 for the 22 inch wiper

| +1 RainX on the windshield. I hate these stock style wipers. I recently put some rainX on the windshield and water is cleared off much easier. | |

| SHort of RainX, I use the wet wax applicator and wax my windshield and it has the same effect. I usually just use the rag when done as it still has alot of wax on it, so I rub it on the windshield and tailgate glass let it dry and buff it off. | |

| a great way to get the glass good and clean is to use 0000 steel wool. it will take just about anything off the glass and leave it nice and clean and slick, then apply the RainX.
be sure to use the 0000 steel wool, the finest grade, and there is virtually no risk of scratching the glass. I have used it on many different windows on cars and around the house with great results.

| I would use a real glass polish instead of steel wool. | |

| I have sometimes had squeaking erratic wipers after the car wash. I presumed it was the wax on the windshield. I clean the windshield after the wash and the squeaking goes away. I always buy the longest wiper that will fit on my cars, but you need to watch both ends when measuring. (1 inch longer usually adds 1/2 inch on each end) I use a wiper I got at Costco, that was branded Goodyear. They now appear to carry the same wiper, but branded Michelin. The frame is all enclosed, that helps reduce problems from snow. I also use rain-x washer fluid. | |
