CC501 rear springs W/20’s Empty
PostSubject: CC501 rear springs W/20’s   CC501 rear springs W/20’s Icon_minitimeSat Feb 20, 2021 10:11 am

I’ve read over this forum and see where several have switched to the CC501 rear springs. I also see where most are running 17 & 18” wheels. Can anyone tell me if I can run 20’s with say a 255/40 tires and have clearance?
Thank you for your help with this.

The springs you chose will not really dictate your tire width. Tire rubbing is mostly determined by the suspension geometry, which does not change with stiffer or softer springs.

There's a lot of room in the back for tire - a 33x12.50x15 fits (barely) for reference. A 255/40/20 will fit easily if your rims have the proper width and offset.

I recently lowered my 91 occ with that spring in the back. Haven't had the time to do the front yet. I have a 255/35/20 on it and it rides real good. Much better then before but I did put new control arms upper and lower and shocks. My tires don't rub at all. Every now and then my exhaust tip will scrape. But it's the location of the exhaust tip.
