PostSubject: AC Blower issue   AC Blower issue Icon_minitimeWed Aug 07, 2024 6:41 pm

Hello people,
my '95 RMW was a garage find several years ago, i recently decided to clean up the pictured former owner work around to supply 12VDC to the blower motor..
i tried the replacement blower motor speed control and replaced the associated missing fuse BUT the blower does not work with the pictured speed control (new, from rockauto and checked as working in one of my '95 RMW's)...
anyone have any thoughts on this issue..?
thanks

sorry, i can not figure out how to attach or insert the images..

Does the blower motor run if you disconnect the purple wire from the controller and apply 12 Volts directly from the battery to the blower?

It could be the call signal from the head unit. Check for voltage at the fuse, and the wire for the call and power wire to the controller. There are possibly two fused wires for the blower. One to the battery, and one to the head unit.

"call" signal?

head unit.
ACC control?
which seems to show all the lights it should.. it displays the trouble codes when asked..
i have been trying to pull the fascia panel off but it scares the EFF out of me that it'll break even though i have a spare..
for now the car works nicely enough to use if i need it even though the fan runs at full speed with the wiring as it is..
thanks..

Call signal is when the head unit requests the part of the system to turn on. It usually powers a relay.

The worst that can happen if you pull the face off is that the buttons will all fall out.
