| Flasheroo, Thank you very much for an excellent reception, intercourse here is very pleasant. Time of year here is the beginning of the winter. As you remember, Russia is located in northen hemisphere too. And certainly I would like to see US motor-car magazines, what transportation company can we use for delivery them to Russia? UPS? If it is possible, I would prefer not to use usual (Federal) russian mail, because it is very unpredictable. | |

| There are 43 Buicks, but 41 Lamborghinis and 291 Hummers. That's an odd ratio. Do Russians not like Buick? In the US, I bought a nice Buick Roadmaster wagon for $3300. That much money in Russia will buy you a worn-out Trabant. | |

| My rusian is not that good, but 11.000$ for a Caprice sedan is quite a lot of money (IMO) and it's a 289? (4.7 litres?) Cars seem to be very expensive over there. You have my sympathy.. | |

| Hi Guys, I am very interested in ideas, experience and culture of building houses in the US. Perhaps you could give me some links to the forums, where people discuss different architectural concepts, building methods and etc? Thanks! | |

Yes. We have the Blazer here in the US. It was made until 2004. It is related to the Chevrolet S-10 and GMC Sonoma pickups. This is an S-10 pickup to compare: Two other versions of the "Blazer" exist. The GMC Jimmy and Oldsmobile Bravada are basically the same thing. They have more options. Edit: I should really check dates before posting. I see this member joined in 2010. Welcome anyway.

Have you seen the station wagon (long roof) model in Russia? Thank you for the warm greetings. Both my Blazers are wagon model, here in Russia. here a pic of it I have recently bought another Chevrolet Blazer 1997 but its condition is much better than condition of my previous Blazer. I have a plan to assemble my two Blazer in one car that should be in excellent condition. Have you known that this model was fitted out in Russia till 1999? It is a shame that history of Сhevrolet Blazer ended on this time point. Moreover, I have not seen any later modifications in Russia. Yours sincerely, Pavel

| Nice looking blazer Pavel! You can't find too many that look that good over here.
We are enjoying summer in the US, I don't like to see that picture of the snow as I know it will be here soon enough. I hope that is an old picture.

Tom I took these pics this spring, here is summer too at the moment. We will see first snow no earlier November Nevertheless, if you are interested in snow, I can upload real Russian winter pics. Just wondering, what is the reason of lack of Blazer in good condition in the U.S.?

| Thanks for the offer, but I live in the snow belt of the US.
I am sure there are good blazers down south, but up in the north winters and salt on the roads does a job on cars.

| Hi Pavel, nice Blazer! That looks to be a well-optioned model, and I really like the flush headlights. These Blazers were really popular, the boxy older models in the 80's were everywhere when I was younger, and the later curvy models also sold well, but had a lot more competition in the 90's. These are still common here in Texas, since we don't have salt on the roads they don't rust here like they do up north, but by now most that you see are pretty well worn out, with faded/peeling paint and torn and sunburned interiors. Again yours looks really good! My first and only brand new vehicle was a '93 S-10 pickup, and I drove it over 300,000 miles before trading it for the '88 Cutlass I have now. I replaced the '93 with this '97 S-10 extended cab. It's been a good truck, but has had more issues than the '93 did. Stuff like headlight and blower motor switches wearing out, and wiper motor resisitors going haywire...things my 93 never needed. I thing the parts quality went down on the curvy trucks, but they do have more room, much better a/c performance, and that reliable-as-the-sun 4.3 V6 engine. We've really worked with the '97 S-10!! My Dad drives that '97 S-10 now, although if the right wagon comes along I plan to sell it and give him my much-lower-mile '98 Dodge Ram. He's liked the S-10 a lot and drives it every day, but it's got 175K miles on it now and is showing it's age. It still runs super though! Please keep the pics coming! I love seeing vehicles from over there! -Mike | |
