PostSubject: Buick Turbines   Buick Turbines Icon_minitimeTue Mar 27, 2012 12:40 pm

I was just chatting with a friend of mine Engie, and he has some buick turbine 5x5 rims like the ones I have. I was wondering if anybody was looking for some. So I told him to send me pix's when he can because he is real busy, so maybe friday. Not sure if he has caps though, but my dad has a set of used ones.

So if anyone is interested let me know and I will post pix's once he sends them. He will give me pricing then too.

This is my rim below,.. only shown for reference.

It's actually a rim i sanded with 220 grit. All were sanded this way, and when I wash them I use a red scuffy to get the sheen back.

Jarrod ,is a red scruffy a body shop term or is it just a plain "red scruffy"?

I'll have to try that with mine. they have spots where they look like crap because of the oxidation from the factory finish flaking off (plus I much prefer a "polished/ bright" appearance to the factory "machined" finish.)
and what is this "red scuffy" you speak of? scratch

Red Scotchbrite pad. Not a body shop secret.

Red scuffy for the win. Smile Pretty close to 320grit sandpaper from what I've read.

This is the rim before hitting it with 220, as you can see there is oxidation on it along the edge where wheel weights sat.

And yes a red scotchbrite is all it is, and also make sure you buy Eagle One's Rough cast aluminum wheel cleaner. This is what I use in conjunctio with the red scuffy to keep my wheels looking great. Also the more you use the scuffy the more the surface flattens out and looks better due to being not as aggressive as the 220. Trust me you will be happy with this routine.
