Looking to do ball joints. Any body do them? What is a good tool to use? The Kent moore tools are out there.

Thanks

Just got back from Harbor freight. They have one that looks like it will work. Big C clamp
with a couple of different size cups. I'll find out today or tomorrow. They also have an add on kit with many sizes. Says China right on it!!

Advanced auto has a nice one to use at no cost also. Just a deposit to borrow it.

Thanks

Yup! It seems to be fine tool from China! It did the job! I have some pics of course.
First I had to loosen up the two castle nuts. I did not remove them until freeing the ball joints from the spindle.
You can see my million dollar Kent Moore tool for poping the spindle free.

Then came time to remove the spindle and set it aside on a bucket. This way I would not have to remove the ABS sensor or the caliper.

Man when the ball joints came free there was a loud pop! First the top one came free.
The lower one was tough. The whole spindle and front end shook.

Now it was time to use my new Harbor Frieght tool! The lower ball joint came out with a little elbow grease. I had to put my big half inch ratchet to work. It was hard until it started to move. Out it came!

I was told that when the socket for the zirk fitting goes even or below the bottom of the ball joint, the ball joint is bad.

Tthe lower ball joint is bad. It felt all loose and slopy. The top one felt ok. Still firm to move. The other side is next weather permitting. I'm too old to work in the rain any more!
