I have to ask though; what kind of longevity could one expect for the paint to remain stuck to the part, especially with today's high underhood temperatures?

Paul I have never had any under hood air cleaners peel, or discolor. Especial HOK stuff since there paint is desgined to go onto engines as well. I use an adhesion promotor on it as welll to give it that extra durability. Plus this one is going on a wall as a clock. Thus the hole in the middle.

Yes it would but it is doing to be hanging on wall. It's going to be a clock.

touch up isn't going to be easy since it is layer upon layer of paints. Maybe a black ring around the screw holes or a polished washer to help cover up the issue.

Hmmm,.maybe time soon to ship a 6 litre black wagon your way for some work,.
