Can someone tell me what ring gear size my 96 Roadmaster Wagon has,also can someone tell
me how a ring gear is measured,ex. 8.2", 8.5" is the size the inside diameter , the outside diameter of the
ring gear or what? thanks ed

Your gears are wither 2.56 or 2.93 (2.93 came with trailer package). You can tell by looking at the G codes on the SPID sitcker that is visible when you open the tailgate. The sticker is on the right side of the door jam. The gears are referred to as 8.5".

Thanks Jay, I appreciate your response. I wasnt as concerned with the ratio as
the ring gear size,which you did state. So it is an 8.5" ring gear.Now exactly what
measures 8.5 inches on the ring? ed
