Starting a new thread for updates/reports from the show. So far this fest has been filled with drama
3 roadside breakdowns, Ray getting his wagon late last night, potential heavy rains forecasted, etc. As I type the wagons are collecting in the parking lot....10 minutes to go time

Seriously!
I wondered if Ray got his car back in time. Did Tim, his wife, and baby make it down there yet?

Yes, Timmy and his lovely bride and bro arrived. Unfortunately due to the overcast spitting rain, many participants left the show around 3PM. Tim called a half hour out, soI was at the readying go shuttle him in (they refuse Mark 96 rowdy in his 93 Fleetwood and Bill 'Navy Lifer' Harper in his new Caprice 9c1 at the gate...(give some one power and they abuse it!) By the time he called the majority of wagons/Impalas had split the show. We met him at the hotel where he hung for about and hour and then headed on to his Mom's 1.5 hours south.
Shower time and then prep for BBQ

Hey guys, here's a video I took of all our cars today around noon. It drizzled a little on and off, but the sun came out in between.

Didn't it rain out last year, too?
Glad everyone made it, with or without their intended vehicles.
And why'd they turn people away???

I just had time to watch the video, the cars all look great! Justin, your car really transformed, looks awesome! Fred's car looks sweet, too. Dave, I love the wide whites on your roadie! And I remember that satin OCC with the "ram air" head from way back in the day. I didn't know that he was still around. Was his name Shawn?
All the cars look great! Wish I'd been there!

After the the BBQ last night (with a little rain for dessert, lol) we all piled into the hotel lobby for a little awards ceremony. Pics will follow for sure but we had two awards. At the height of the show (when all cars were present) I took a pic with the iPad of each car. I then held up the ipad and the group that was in attendence each got one vote. Most votes won People's Choice.
1. Long Haul award - Going into the weekend, I already knew it was going to be Silverfox. I was not expecting SShftin6 to show up from Wisconsin! So I asked where he lived and ran off to consult Google. Surprisingly, he tied Dave from CT, and Tim GaSSt for second with around 1250 miles one way. Tom remained the long hauler at just a tick under 1400!
2. Peoples choice - The Roo wagon by one vote with 7 votes!! Congrats to Ray.
Photos of the awards will be coming. I didn't get a chance to unload my camera yet.

We had a total of 23 cars this year (not counting the two cars that didn't quite make it, or were not allowed in, that would have made it 27)
Just want to throw out a few thank yous to everyone who helped. As usual it was a community project with everyone offering to pitch in to help. We also absorbed a few of the SS crowd who fit right into our merry band.
Special thanks to everyone that helped the stranded folk whether providing info or phone numbers to those who could help!
I'd also like to thank Ray and his Mom Sharon for stepping up to help out with anything that was needed. Also to Justin and Mark 96 Roady for helping with shopping for BBQ supplies.
Tom and his lovely bride who where at the ready with setup and tear down of the dinner. To Glen for realizing Robert's two tables were stranded in Jax and bringing another and flatware. To 59 Wagon Dude for bringing extra grilles that we definitely needed.
Also like to thank everyone who came! Despite the weather being iffy, it held for the event right up to dessert, lol.
Can't wait until next year.

just got a post from Tim, his car is ready for the return trip to Cape Cod.
Uploading 140 pics....I have to admidt after looking at them, I'm a crappy photog. Shots of interiors, but no exterior, edges of cars cut off. jeeeez. I musta been distracted.
I do, however, have shots of each car that we used for voting. Will get them off the iPad tomorrow and make an 'attendee' thread.

I got turned away at the entrance gate with my 93 Fleetwood because the person said it was too new. I argued with him, but he refused. I guess technically nothing newer than 1984 is supposed to be let in. Asshole. There were 2012 model cars in there. The moral to the story is to PRE REGISTER and then they can't stop you because you have already paid. Otherwise a great event, lots of cool cars and nice people. If you can, make it next year.

It's FANTASTIC to see that many B-bodies in one place. It's awesome to know that they still have such a following. Great vid!
I do wish you'd turned around and got a good shot of the yellow '58 Plymouth at the end. I'm a HUGE Christine fan.

Got home last night around 7:30. I was beat. Drove in rain from the VA border to CT
Car ran great. No issues, unless you count a leaking rear wheel well as an issue. I arrived home to a puddle.
I had a blast. Will definitely go next year. I also loved meeting all the members who, until Friday were just screen names. Pics to follow when I finally wake up enough to get them off the phone and camera.

Meanwhile another Fleetwood and two '93 wagons made it in.

Belated "Thank You" to all for welcoming a newbie to the Longroof group. It was nice to meet and see everyones' rides and be able to collect some great and distinctive modification ideas from all the different wagons (and sedans). Happy to be called a Longroofer and hope see everyone at the next Wagonfest.

I got to talk to a few of you guys in the garage area. I did take the walk over to see your rides but noone was around, just your cars. There were some nice ones there. My black 93 Caprice wagon(with the club pass) was parked by the garages. Yes some of the people at the gates had no business being there.
