| I just finished installing the console today after working on it this weekend, and it works great, and looks sweet, imo any way. I just want to thank Tim S. (BigBlackBeaSSt) for all the Bravada parts to do this swap, great guy to deal with, and good friend. Thanks Tim. This is a great mod to these cars, looks and feels factory. Helps pull the GS theme off a little more. [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] | |

| Who designed those brackets? The brackets are a key part of making this thing solid enough to handle the shift forces but not so solid that when your knee hits the shifter it breaks your knee. | |

| Lorne, I love your fleet, especially your new BRMW from Mike, GORGEOUS! My wagon was from a funeral home in Ship Bottom, NJ., and my dad rode funeral escort on a H-D part time when I was growing up. You should have seen my kids faces when I told them the wagon was used to carry around dead people, priceless. Bill, Yeh, huge difference, I like even more than I thought I would. Krz, There are a bunch of these write ups already on ISSF, and Roadmonster.org. These are the two I used. Stewart's Roadmonster site is pretty cool. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/629700/4http://roadmonster.org/?cat=33Tim S. (BigBlackBeaSSt) and I may be doing the same mod on his RMW just before WF'10, if you still want me to do a write up, Tim and I could probably do one then. What do you think Tim? Joel, It may brake your knee, I designed them and bent up the brackets out of 12 guage sheet metal, the console is rock solid.

| Looks awesome! Those brackets are VERY nice....thicker than the ones I used on the old AGW a few years back.
Did you cut the driver's seat? Or use an extra passenger seat?

I SEM'd mine (does not have a shifter). The paint match is perfect. Mike, that looks great, did you get the back seat done yet? The gear indicator works also is that correct? tom

| I like that. I'm wondering how it would work on my 95. My car has the power lumbar switch sticking out on the outside of the seat so using 2 pass seats still wouldn't work. Anyone have any suggestions?

| Peel back your seat bottom leather, and cut off the extra middle part. Tuck the leather back down and hog ring it in place. | |

| Tom, No, the back seat is not done. I still need to get it stitched up in the back, looks good from the front though. The shifter indicator works on the dash still and the floor shifter. | |

| Can't see the pic.
If it's a factory GM shifter it will probably have a "staple" looking clip in the front of the shifter handle. Use a 90 degree pick to pull the staple/clip out, then pull the handle up and off the shifter shaft. I hope this helps.

I have a dark grey one for sale, if you are interested. Mikes (200OZ) brackets make it a clean and STRONG install. I have both a dark grey and wood insert for it. Which ever suits your car.

| I have 2 sets of brackets left, but I'm not sure about the trans brackets, I don't think I have any of those left, and if that's the case I'll need your trans brackets. I charge $80.00 for the 3 brackets, plus shipping to you. $70.00 if you supply the trans brackets for me to weld. These are the 3 brackets you get: 1. The welded together B body, and Blazer/Bravada/Jimmy trans. brackets. 2. The front console bracket that the factory Blazer floor shifter bracket mounts to. 3. The rear console bracket that keeps the console armrest nice and solid. This is a link to a console install I did with BigBlackBeaSSt in '10 that will give you an idea of how I do the console install. https://gmlongroof.4umer.com/t1477-bravada-console-conversion?highlight=bravada

| I have a question about the wiring. Mine is almost done, just waiting for a good cable. I am now wiring up the trans interlock wiring. Using a relay from the brake switch to the green wire on the console connector, the black goes to ground and the red goes to hot all the time. That leaves 2 wires left coming out of the solenoid connector, a green with white stripe and a yellow. What were these used for? | |

| I didn't end up using the shift interlock on my console shifter. At first I used the stock factory shift interlock, but it didn't feel right, so I disconected it and wired the Bravada interlock. That worked for about 2 months and then it quite and wouldn't unlock the shifter. I just used a tie wrap to keep it unlocked. Here is a link that I used to help me wire up the Blazer/Bravada shift inter lock. Lots of other good info on this link as well. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/629700/1995-chevrolet-caprice/page-4/#6297000149 Thanks Mike. I followed that diagram and the relay and wiring work fine except the interlock on the shifter unlocks and stays open when the ignition is on or in run. Is that normal? I think it may burn out the solenoid in the interlock switch in the shifter. I was thinking with the relay wiring to the brake switch, it would only unlock the shifter when the brake was applied. I guess if the solenoid burns out I will resort to the method you describe which is how I had it setup before I did the rewire. I am still waiting on a cable. I found 2 numbers that may both be correct for right length cable but I can't seem to verify it. Both of these are for a Blazer/Bravada floor shifter from what I could find out from dealer parts guys but I want to make sure before I order it as they are non-returnable. 15713353 and 15750543 are both good. They are different prices though. The JY cable I bought turned out to be bad and the cable broke thru the sheath the 1st time I set it up and put pressure on it. | |

| Yeah, that was my problem as well. Maybe the diagram is wrong. I didn't take the time to figure it out, I just wired it open. The solenoid should only be energized (shifter is unlocked) when the ignition is on, AND the brake pedal is applied.
I checked the part #'s you listed and the 15713353 says "custom install" in the description. The second part #, 15750543 says its for a full size aplication (Avalanch, Silverado, Sierra, C/K)
My console came out of an 1998 Bavada. The cable I ordered after my cable broke is GM part # 15189201, and is about $80. GM # 15189203 should also work, but is about $100. One cable is for the AWD transfer case, and the other # is for the 2 speed transfer case. I just ordered the cheaper cable.

| I may try to run the green wire from the shifter interlock to brake light wire. That way it won't always be activated. I will let you know how that turns out next week.
Those P/Ns you posted are showing up $10 less than the ones I had from various GM parts dealers online. Looks like GMpartsdirect has it for the cheapest at $50 +$12 shipping. This is very helpful. I wonder how many other part numbers there are for the same part?
I measured the damaged cable I have and it is 112" long from counter hole to center hole. I know hat is the correct length since I was able to hook it up correctly.

| I don't know how long the shift cable I used is, nor could the GM dealer tell me how long the ones are that I posted part #'s for. Sounds like you're on the right track though. You will love the floor shifter when you have it all done and working. Don't forget pics.

Mike It's done. The number you posted above is correct. 15189201 It was $49 + $9 S&H from gmpartsdirect. I also ordered the locking clips for each end from them which were about $4 each. All in all it was not that hard except for the part where it wouldn't sync with the column linkage until I found the problem with the JY cable. I mounted mine directly to the floor on top of the carpet with no brackets. I used elevator bolts. I used the shifter mechanism for a template and drilled straight down thru carpet and tranny tunnel and then pushed the elevator bolts up from under the car as there was enough room between tranny and floor. Then I mounted the shifter mechanism directly to the bolts on top of the carpet and bolted it down. I had to use 1" spacers on the back of the shifter but none on the front. This saved a lot of time and helps keep the interior quieter. I didn't have to remove the seats for this install. I cut a hole in the carpet concealed within the console to run the cable thru as well as power and ground wires. I installed a strip of LED lights inside the storage compartment with switch that turns the light on when the lid is opened. I also installed a double cigar lighter with dual USB charger ports into the front tray. Thanks to all for the advice and encouragement.
