| Like the title states the ABS light is on in my 92 Wagon. I jumped the pins, code 61.
Relays click on and off with 12v applied is my ABS motor bad perhaps? Best way to test this?

| Check the relay contacts, and reestablish the ground. If the relay does not fix it, and the ground is good, then the whole assembly must be replaced.
Are you in the rust belt?

| Yes I am in the rust belt.
I will check the relay contacts tonight. Also where is the ground on this unit?

| What pins get jumped to pull codes? Have the abs light on constant so I am thinking blown fuse or electrical fault. I've had this issue before with my 92 Volvo wagon, same Bosch system, was a blown fuse. | |

| Could use some help with this one. I'm getting code 61 for the ABS. Light came on constant when starting the car at first. I cleaned the ground going to the motor, and added another ground to the core support. Now lights goes out after initial self test. Run the engine and the light comes back after about 30 seconds. Pulled code again. Still 61. Swapped out the motor relay. Code still comes back. I'll try disconnecting the battery tonight in case the system stores the codes (I doubt it does). Would anyone have a troubleshooting flow chart or tips? Not turning much up on google. | |

| Well in case you are still curious. I solved the issue. Of the light being on. I jumped the pump motor directly to the battery. Nothing. Search google. No new or reman parts out there. Start tracing wiring and testing a spare cluster to see if there is a solid state logic in the cluster. Nope the light just gets grounded to turn on. So I unplugged the EBCM under the hood, and the ABS module under the dash. Success! ABS light does not light up. Which means I was good to go this morning for state inspection. I did try just unplugging one or the other module, and it seems that it's wired just like the brake warning light, either module can ground the light. So if both modules are unplugged, there is no other system to check the ABS functions. I might repair it someday, but it's just a summer driver so maybe not. | |
