Well made it from Austin to northeast Arkansas and back over the weekend. Sad to say this is the first trip where I've had some issues pop up. In addition to the rear window lock failing to engage, on the way home yesterday the Check Engine light came on and stayed on the last 700 miles home to Texas.

Car never ran poorly, but only averaged 21mpg vrs 24 on the last long trip. No weird noises and car ran cool, a/c blew ice, but CE light drove me mad.

I'd removed the first base and home plate baffles since my last trip. Installed the Home Depot intake about a week ago and a Camaro intake elbow just before the trip. Wonder of something there on the intake is tripping the light? It ran just fine on the drive up, over 800 miles on Friday, no lights or issues. Also drove to Memphis on Sunday....again, ran fine.

Will run by Autozone today and have them scan it. Hopefully it's something easy!

Got just under 85K miles on the wagon now. Had 73 when I bought it the end of April. Need to slow this down! Want to keep this car a while.

Will pass on what the scanner says.

-Mike

According to Autozone the EGR valve is tripping the code. Fun. I'm hoping that's an easy fix.

EGR is simple on these cars. Smile Two 13mm bolts on the back of the intake and 10 minutes and it's swapped out. NBD. Smile

Highway miles don't do anything bad to cars.
