| -Used square tube stock (thick walled). Fit up nicely into stock lower control arms. -Drilled holes in channel stock to line up with holes in sway bar. -Welded bolts into holes in channel stock. Heads of bolt in channel. -Welded channel stock to bottom of square tube stock. After getting the front to back distance correct. -Spaced the bar down with washers to clear shock mounts and rear diff case. Tried it several times with different amounts of washers until I was happy. -Welded washer stack (a little red neck action here). BUT IT WORKED!! -Had the set up powder coated. I hate rusty stuff!!! -Bolted her up!!! She hangs just low enough to go after squirrels!!! | |

| Tim, could you post the measurements? IE: length and dia of the channel stock, length of the "washer stack", etc... | |

Next time I get her on a lift in the warmth, I will see what I can come up with. I think if you stacked two square tubes my might get rid of the washers.

| I thought that the Impala SS sway bars were a different width than the wagon control arms. | |

It is, but with the angle of the control arms being "toe'd in" it gets narrower toward the front. So if you slide the bar forward in the wagon control arms you will find the spot where they work. My control arms have holes drilled for the sway bar brackets. I built the brackets installed them on the sway bar then slid them into the control arms. centered the sway bar front to back and marked the stock. Drill and taped holed in the square stock and used SS bolts to hold it in. I then played with different washer stacks to get the height I wanted. Should have replaced the washers with round stock drilled out, but it works well. Tim

| With that much standoff, the bolts will have a tendency to flex. Watch them carefully for cracking. You are dealing with a lot of weight. A single piece of bar stock on each side would be in order to replace the stacks of washers. | |

Tim I see it now. My sway bar is bolted to the stock location and is slightly behind the pumpkin. Your set-up is under the pumpkin.

| Okay, I've read ad nauseum that you need aftermarket LCAs to run a rear sway bar.
I've received a tip, and found mention in a few threads, of a bar being run on the 2nd gen control arms, which I've just purchased. Anybody know what bar can be used with them? I don't need something crazy (sure, the 1.5" wagon super bar is awesome, but impractical for me), but if there's something that would be a mild upgrade that I could simply swap on, I'm all ears.
(Lazy-man copied from ISSF... I can't follow Tim's way - can't weld). |

| The 2nd gen F-body bar is for the front. Is that what you mean? Just use the stock Ford Crown Vic/Mercury Marauder bar. You can get them used for short money (like 30-40 bucks) at a boneyard. A few guys on here have done it. You can search the big board, too. You essentially need a couple 3" exhaust clamps and the panther endlinks and it all bolts on. When you have it where you want it, take it somewhere like an exhaust shop and have them put a tack weld or two on each exhaust clamp and you're done. For like 50 bucks total. That's what I am doing. But I got the upgraded Marauder bar by Addco. | |

| 200OZ used the maurader/crown vic bar with great success. If I had it to do again, I would do it that way. | |
