| Bit of a back story. So as of late I've been using my wagon more and more at work. Well, I decided I diddnt want to mess up my carpet so I began looking for a cargo mat. The factory ones proved impossible to find so I started looking at rubber bed liners from pickups. Those diddnt look good so I began to give up. Well today I was at WalMart when I saw they had 5x7 area rugs for $20. So I picked up a gray one and got it home. Now obviously, 5' is too wide for the back of the wagon so I cut down 6" on each side as it has a beveled edge and I wanted it to look even. After that I simply took it outside and threw it in the wagon. With the spare 6"x7' pieces I may make an extension that covers the tailgate later. But here's the finished product: And for anyone that may want to do this, the 5x7 rugs come in Tan, Black, Red, and Gray. The tan and red look pretty close to the gm tan and red fwiw. | |

| did you connect the rug to the seatback so when the seats are up it doesn't flop over? | |

| Hey Cadet that turned out nice.Looks like the rug was tailor made for our wagons.Good price too.Hope you dont own a pneumatic nail gun though. Wonder how the gray will go with my wagons blue interior?Guess I will have to give it a try and see what happens. Thanks for the idea. Take Care Jim Gordon |

| You could use baby pins to attach to the carpet no the back of he seat.
Make your rear seat (3rd) a pain to use!!

The gray would probably look pretty good imho. But come to think of it. I think they had a blue carpet in 5x7 too.. - silverfox103 wrote:

Tom It really did. $20 well spent imo. - BigBlackBeaSSt wrote:

Make your rear seat (3rd) a pain to use!! I was thinking that or maybe sew in some heavy duty snaps, like the floor mats have. No one really uses the 3rd row so I'm not too concerned, but the carpet is light enough to pull it up to access the 3rd seat. - 81X11 wrote:

Praise Marty Moose! That's probably what I'll do. Make it easy to take out to clean too.

| If you are sewing, put some nylon straps on the back side so when you want it out of the way you can roll it up and snap/clip the strap around the roll. I might then fit between the second and third seat when they are both in use.

Or if he was in the south we could call him a "carpetbagger". That was a good idea. I've been looking for something myself to protect the carpet. Right now I've got a rubber mat out of a subaru outback that doesn't exactly fit but at least mostly protects my carpet. I don't think 3" nails would be too good, they would poke holes in the seat bottom when the backs folded down... Jon

| Hey Cadet I was going to walmart and pick up a roll of the blue carpet but everything here is coated with a thin very smooth layer of ICE.We live off the York river and this only happens rarely. The ice is smooth as glass and very slippery so I am keeping my butt and cars home. Take Care All Jim Gordon |
