| I hadn't planned an official docket because I didn't want peeps to come to Flint to check out the cars and feel obligated to hang out with me at home - and the flip side of that same token is that I may not feel like sitting home with you kooks when we can all be tailgating somewhere checking out killer rides.
The only thing "official" is downtown Flint's back to the bricks all day Saturday.
I'm also trying to finger out just how exactly to be a decent host in one city - and to also try sneaking away to see the ISSCA guys at least one night at the host hotel too.
May do a bonfire at our place on Thursday or Friday night, not sure yet.
Either way, despite the lack of official docket, please know that you guys are all welcome here at any point in your visit to the mitten.

| Just rolled down the main cruising strip on my way home from checking out my man Pete's 1995 DCM Caprice wagon that just rolled 40k miles on it 2 days ago - and there is already a bunch of hot cars out cruising and lots of people tailgating in parking lots watching the cruisers.
I can't imagine Woodward is any different.

| PM me for my number if you're heading to Flint and we'll hook up wherever I happen to be.
If you just wanna cruise: Take 75 North and get off at the Dixie Hwy exit and keep on that. That's the cruising strip. Within 5-10 miles, you'll know you're in the right spot and that road will take you all the way to downtown.

| I took my 64 out tonight. I'll be in my wagon tomorrow. The only part that is going to suck is that my drivers window just quit working. Not sure if it's the switch or the motor, but I don't think I can get it fixed bye tomorrow night. | |

| If any of you are going to be out Cruising B2B tonight stop by and see me. My club ( The Mid Michigan Modern Muscle Car Club ) will be a Roll Haven in Grand Blanc. We'll be out on the front lawn displaying some of our cars. I'd love to meet some of you and check out your rides. If you or you wife, or your kids skate they have free skating going on ( you have to pay the skate rental ) The Flint City Derby Girls will be there too. I'll be out there about 4:00 or so. | |

| Muskle head - we saw you fly by Wednesday night in your wagon! We were parked over in Burtucky. Didn't even get out to cruise last night till after 8pm, so we just ran over to the tech center and parked on the lawn while we killed some Old A red sauce dogs. When 5-0 started killing it, we slid out the side door onto Hemphill and cruised back home.
I have to find a spot and just park. There's no way the clutch OR clutch leg in my 65 can live very long at the pace the traffic doesn't move.

| That's too bad you didn't make it up for the one thing that you knew was scheduled, which was the car show that went on all day until 6pm and took up the entire downtown district of Flint. Everyone that came seemed to have a nice time.
Pics at some point soon.

Pics at some point soon. ok,. but we were thinking that a get together with you guys at your place was going to be the main attraction,.and for me personally, any car show that lasts all day until 6pm,. is a long day to be walking around ,. it was kind of fun sitting under the tent on woodward avenue having the car show scroll by all day,. with burnouts,. and cars showing off doing high rpm runs,.i paid $50.00 for parking in a fantastic grassy spot in between 2 sections of 1 way road,. 6 lanes of mayhem at times, what a blast,. In lots of cases there were full race cars complete with wheelie bars, slicks, and open tubes rolling by,.nascar type stock cars doing burnouts,. killer old and new muscle cars all doing live action roll ons etc,.for me better than a static show,. Sorry we didn't make it as i said,.was hoping for a bs session with you part time wagon guys, pity we only saw sprocket for a short time,.i would have like to have taken him around the road course,.but i did manage to buy him a couple of beers,. | Sounds like you had an awesome time too. I've heard nothing but great things about the MISSL setup this and every other year.
We all started at my place in the AM, and after breakfast we all headed downtown and all parked next to each other. There was my biscayne, Pat's car, his buddy's 69 Grand Prix, and Jimbeaus wagon.
From there, it's too hard to see that much diversity and all stick together, so we kind of moved at our own pace - and whoever got tired went back to the cars and sat in lawn chairs under the shade trees until they caught a 2nd wind.
Again, with everything else going on, I just couldn't see hanging out at my place as a destination or an attraction. It was more of a central hub, but everyone was also welcome to eat, sleep, and hang out as much as they wanted throughout the week when there wasn't the more exciting car attractions to get to.
The difference between a rolling show and a static show is a big deal too. I personally get enough of the rolling show every night during the week, and like to be able to take my time appreciating a paintjob or whatever was done to a car at my own pace by Saturday.
Another difference, for me, was that not only do I like the static show, but it's also free to be in, free to attend, and basically NO "traffic" getting to it or leaving to go home from it.
I'm glad you were able to make the trip and had a great time.
I'll post pics soon though.

| Just a quick drop in, Got home at 2:30 this AM due to bad weather in NY making my plane 3.5 hours late to Detroit. Running on 3hrs sleep which is close to an extension on the weekend..... I was litterally falling asleep Saturday night, trying to tape flames on a fender...then after I passed out Bewb took off and partied for 4 hours at Nationals. (He must not ever sleep!) There was sooo much going on you couldn't be in two places at once. It was cool to see everyone, and I got down to host hotel for Nationals, 3 times and got to see alot of the guy's I met at WF last year and some I hadn't yet. Things I learned: 1. Those long stories with 20 plot turns Bewb writes about is how he rolls all the time 2. Wash your hands after you put on Deep Woods OFF and before you eat a hot dog roasted over an open fire (made me puke). 3. Going to a car weekend without a car is a very different experience (newest car I rode in between Wed and Sunday morning was the 1969 Grand Prix) - Bewb's Suburban doesn't count 4. I think everyone in Flint is a motor head, I ran an errand 3 minutes from Bewb's in his Biscayne and managed to get in a drag race on the way back, lol. 5. Bewb and family are AWESOME hosts. I took alot of 3D video and stole stills from Bewb and Derrick. I'll wait till they post their best shots and will include a few more that I liked too. Video will be coming in a week or so (have to edit it, etc). | |

| Sorry still no pics uploaded. Just took me 45 minutes to go through all of Big Pimpins'
Anyhoo, here is a brief timeline of our (Redbird and mine's) weekend. Pics to be filled in here when I get to getting them up (still running on 3hrs sleep)
Tuesday - Work all day. Call Bewb and Pat and touch base. Get home and spend 20 minutes packing. Set alarm for 5:00 and go to bed around 11:30.
Wed - Wake up for 7:20 flight at 5:44 and realize I set the alarm for 5:00PM not AM. DOH! Wake up my boy, hop in the shower. My lovely wife wakes up and we are out the door and hauling butt out of the neighborhood at 6AM on the nose. Cover the 23 miles to the airport in 26 minutes, not quite a new record but in the ballpark (80-85 the whole way in pre rush hour traffic, didn't wanna tempt Johnny Law and miss the flight). Check in clear TSA, grab an Egg muffin thing and they are boarding. Flight is pretty empty and we each get our own row, SWEET!
About an hour fifteen into the flight they come on the loudspeaker and ask, "Is there a doctor or EMT on the plane". I quickly check to make sure I didn't have the fish.....Turns out a guy two rows in front of us is having chest pains. They get a professional of some sort and the flight crew produces a stethascope and blood pressure arm band thingy. At this point I'm wondering where we are going to divert to, but he was a trooper and we got into Detroit about 10 minutes early (we didn't fly a pattern). We all stay seated and the paramedics come on, talk to him and he gets up and walks out on his own....good karma!
Turn on my phone and a msg from Pat saying he's there. I call him and he answers as he strolls into view....We collect our stuff and off to Woodward. The night before I found a South of the Border sticker which I give Pat and he slaps it on Tina. Pat's Dad had the same sticker on their 1960 Caddy. Pat drives us down to the beginning of Woodward and we start heading toward Pontiac. We stop for some burgers and such on the way up. There are cars about and we see some neat rides cruising around. The further north we travel, the more cars we see.
We drive all the way up and do the big loop, then head off to Aurburn Hills to the host hotel. We pull into the lot and who do I see first, but my good buddy Tim (ImpalaSSDude) cleaning up his 94 SS. We park and meet a few other peeps. After about 45 minutes we are off again toward Chez Bewb. We arrive and get the nickel tour. Pat takes off to collect his girl and we hang with Bewb. I get to meet Lloyd and Matt C. and check out the flame job on Lloyd's SS. Looks great.
Later we go for a cruise on Saginaw in Flint and it's pretty busy already and it's only Wed! We head home, have some dinner and when Pat returns we head out again. Have a Major Muscle Head spotting as he goes tearing by in his blue wagon. Sumthin' happens about a mile down the road and the cops shut down the cruising at 10PM.
Thursday - Donna's donuts for breakfast! I'm a fan now. Best darn donuts I think I've ever eaten. Being a semi-pro at surfboard repair, we go look at a mini chopper that has a split fiberglass gas tank. It looks like an easy fix and Bewb buys it from his sister's cousin's brother or something like that. At first it's just going to be fix the tank and respray it. An hour later, Bewb, Pat, and myself have stripped it to the frame...
Bewb has some things he has to do, so we hop in Tina and the three of us head down toward the host hotel. I call Ian and they are at the track. He's not much help with giving us directions, so Pat drops us at the hotel and there are quite a few people there anyway. Spend about 3.5 hours and see and meet lots of members from both forums. Pat returns with his Lady and it's off to dinner. Not much going on in Flint tonight as cops shut the cruising down at 9PM and it's 10:30 when we get back there. End up in the Flame Cave with Bewb till about 1AM working on the chopper.
Friday - We kidnap Bewb and head south. We stop at the hotel for the judged show to see all the shiny B-bodies. More chatting and drooling, then off to Woodward to cruise. We spend most of the day cruising up and down, having lunch, etc. We head back north as Big Pimpin' and Pat's friend Mark are showing up. Bewb has a bonfire we start around 10 or something and I have the 'hot dog incident'.
Saturday - French toast for B-fast, met Jimbeau and we all headed over to the Bricks at a leisurely 10AM and scored a great spot a block from Halo Burger (great burgers). It was just stupid how many cars were there. We walked down a side street and saw hundreds of cars. At each intersection you could just stand in the middle of the road and see nice cars parked in every direction. We were there all day until the rain chased us off around 3:30PM. I was spent. Went back to Chez Bewb's then off for a buffet dinner. Headed back to Bewb's and fell asleep while trying to tape flames on the mini chopper's fender (this is an art BTW!). Fell asleep and then Bewb snuck out and partied with the Impala guys till 3AM.
Sunday - Said our goodbyes and Pat drove us back to Woodward where we cruised back toward Detroit. I was a little dissapointed that more cars weren't around but saw a few. Met up with my cousin from Toledo around 9 mile road and said goodbye to Pat and Sue. Went to the Henry Ford museum with my cuz and that was very cool. Even though the car part was under a refurb, we still spent 5-6 hours looking at all the neat stuff in there (Highly recommend a visit if you get a chance).
Great weekend and thanks to all for everything.

| Just estimated on Google maps from one end to the other was about 4000 feet down this street or about 3/4 mile plus side streets and parallel streets an easy mile and a half of cars on both sides of the street.
Some of the side streets had car clubs, etc. It'd be cool to take over a whole block with wagons, that's for sure!

I've had ants in my pants and yes you do jump around. I took my girlfriend into the woods in her pickup truck in college, kept my shoes on and after were ahem, finished I grabbed my pants and pulled them on over my shoes. I was standing on a mound of fire ants. About 30 seconds later I found out fire ants LOVE to bite sausage and meat balls. My girlfriend was quite amused. In one fluid movement I jumped up in the air high jump style and cleared the side of the bed on her F150 landing on my back in the bed of her truck with my pants down around my ankles already. I started swatting the crap outta those things and picking them out of my 'fro. My girl was laughing so hard she couldn't breathe as I was cursing like a sailor the whole time.... I'm getting to the video Bewb, I have to re-format it into 2-d, etc. Won't happen tonight as hurricane surf is starting to arrive at the beach and I need to GO SURFING!!!!
