Starting a pic thread....not too much happening yet. The budget minded wagon folk met up at the Jameson Inn tonight. (Impala guys are all at the Holiday Inn) Walked over to Cracker Barrel for dinner and are not heading to bed. (lol) Gotta be up and rolling out by 7:40am tomorrow.
Sprocket doing some last min touch-ups on his Pimp'n Pink wagon... (Hey, hold my beer for a second while I fix this spot)
_________
Krzdimond arrives with his new headlights. Very nice! He had not hand buffed all the bugs off his wagon yet, so don't look too closely.
_________
Fred Kiehl arrived with his white OCC...so we kinda had something going on in the parking lot now.
_________
Sprocket decided it was time to put the true finishing touch on his ride...the hood ornament.
_________
Dinner over and these party animals are ready for bed.

it's not pink, despite what Robert thinks
So the curtain is lifted on my little project, Purple Haze. I wanted to paint scallops on the hood yesterday but was too late/tired/hungry by the time I got done getting the darn cladding back on the door, and air dams all situated (they where getting all bent up from the wind???
I have a couple of pics too but no way to upload on this iPad

Whew, what a day. So much went on and I found myself not taking as many pictures/video as I planned. This was a lot of fun!!!
More wagons joined up at the hotel this morning....we were gathering to head over to the SS groups meeting spot and THEN cruise to the track. It was fun trying to keep up with the caravan on I-95. Sprocket was on a roll in that OCC. Also seems like whenever I looked in my rearview, I was seeing Robert power sliding sideways in his WB4. lol

That motor was in a incredible car, not a wagon. Not sure if it was an SS or not. Very, very high dollar.

Here are all of my photos that I took in a Facebook album. It's public, so you don't need an account to view.
Cool people. Lots of fun. I learned quite a bit, even in one day. Congrats to clever Brokecello for winning a show award, and nice job being clever. I see how you strategically placed Cara to hide that fender crease. :p Krzdimond, I still give you zero sympathy for clear coat woes, but I wish you the best in your wagon's swift recovery. Nick, I don't think I ran into you at the show at all... I don't recall. Did you sign my hood? lol Jeffracer - I still want your wheels.
2. I bought a Mach 5 diecast model.
Awww yeah. Awesome.
3. Thank you Fred for the speaker pods and the interior light cover.
Now I'm no longer blinded when I open the door, and my speaker isn't flopping around inside the door anymore held on by broken bits of plastic. Hope your booth makes a killing.
4. Farewell (for me) dinner.
If you guys don't know, Sprocket's daughter is a real treat. Smartest six year old I've ever met in my entire life. When we were all standing around outside talking cars, I saw she was getting a little antsy (but putting up with it so much better than most kids would do) so I invited her to do her own drawing on my hood with chalk. Kids love it. She was drawing and told me and my friend Aaron that we couldn't watch the artist at work, so we re-joined everyone else in the conversation. A few minutes later we go called back and saw a shape on the front of the hood, which she explained was Niagara Falls, and the reason she drew it in pink was because the water sometimes changes colors based on the sun - and she really likes pink. Also lots of fun conversation at dinner itself. I think I gave Krzdimond at least two really good belly laughs (one of which was at my own expense, but hey!).
Overall. I had a blast. And I'll DEFINITELY be back next year. (And possibly there for Turkey Run).

So, can someone tell me who those guys are, and whose cars they are?
For example, who's that biker dude and why is he drilling a hole in Sprocket's door handle? Is that Sprocket who's watching in trepidation?

Nick, I am not sure of his name...but he was known as the window roller king. He replaced Sprockets window rollers in record time!
Yeah, I am sorry I missed dinner last night. Cara was wiped out and we ended up going to bed at 6pm and slept like logs. I know Robert was banging on the door at some point... We are not used to all the sun and walking! Lol
I promise I was not trying to be clever, but it ended up that way. Cara wanted to sit there and sun tan...she thought that would be a good spot. Robert should have $ to be in the show (his clearcoat failure was not as bad as I thought it would be...BUT he is a perfectionist) I know that bugged him...but its all for fun! I know my little old Olds is swelling with pride!
Here is a video (same pics..but a couple of vid clips I took) sorry I did not take more actual video this time. So much going on!!

Do you have a full size of that last shot of my car in the vid where the doors are open? It almost makes it look presentable! the angle of the shot seemed to hide most of the clear coat LOL
EDIT: Never mind. Stole it from Facebook.

i was there, did see you,. you were busy with a posse following you around,. i was sitting at the judges table for a while,.i was asked to do some judging of the cars,. i got to pick best of show in four categories, paint motor interior and wheels. Talked to chris and rob,.talked to your mother, asked her where you got your hubcaps, Talked to chris' nice wife,. spent a little time with john,. but the wagon guys all stuck together pretty good,. interesting fact,. there were more wagons than sedans ,. would like to have driven 1 of mine down,. but it was cheaper to fly,. and thanks to the generosity of Rob and his wife, i,ve had a nice 3 days of florida weather mixed with copious amounts of nice girly drinks with generous amounts of malibu coconut rum,.and beer The wagons all left early, and by the time we had noticed they had left, we didn't have any phone numbers to arrange a meet for supper, so big bill harper, howard rothstein ,Rob and his wife Liz, and I went to a very nice restaurant right on the water called Our deck down under,. Florida,. warm relaxing change from the cold harsh Alberta wilderness,.

Damn, should have flagged me down. I'd have stopped to say hi. Pretty sweet that you got to do some judging.
I remember my mom saying somebody asked. They came from Hubcapmike.com. $101 shipped for 4 new ones.
Me, my friend Aaron, Sprocket and his family, and Krzdimond had barbecue. It was pretty good.

Wagonfest NY has about 60 cars...... This one had 6000 vehicles!! And it was spread out over the entire infield of the Daytona Speedway!
There were over 1300 cars for sale and the swap area was HUGE!
Closer to home, there were 16 wagons there and we outnumbered the sedans
Kinda missed the nomadic wagon camp outside the microtel on Saturday night though....

Black SS Wagon is Bob Borcher's pres of GOFASST. Yeah the Orlando impala club is presided over by a wagon owner
Gold Caprice wagon, no wood wagon is Tim, Impalassdude. Don't know the names of the owners of the 3 AGWs that were there.
Owner of the 572 is Terry Rodgers from Orlando, that thing is a serious ground pounder, pro built, pro street, 100% bad to the bone....
Gotta try to upload my pics now.

I only for few pics up so far, but I'm going to bed....When I get them all up I'LL PUT A STORY TOGETHER. .I went back to the track to snap a couple of Purple Haze in front of the high bank, and wound up spending another 2 hours inside....Sorry Roo, the registration booth was empty by the time I got there (had to swim in the hotel pool with my daughter first) so I couldn't get you a show plaque.
Congrats on Chris's 2nd place award AND rh96ss on his Best Wagon award. Chris's 'beater' is cleaner than any of my wagons.
