| Been through several kits (and just finished installing one in my 1A2). Its not a hard job, just time consuming. Mine had keyless too which added to the wiring. I found an adapter on amazon that connected between the column ans the wiring harness that eliminated the need to splice ignition wires. Getting the harness up there was a real pain, there's no room to work and I swear GM stuck sharp metal plates up there to punish me for attempting to do this with the column in the car. If you don't like cutting into vital wiring, it may be worth it to you. The adapterAs for the locks, they are a positive feed, wires are in the DS kick panel. Roadmaster wire colors | |

| I have remote start with the keyless entry added on to the remote start to eliminate having 2 fobs.I had mine installed and had to make 1 minor repair after about 3 years of use.Wagon Lover make sure if you install the system yourself to use the best quality wiring connectors you can find. The installer that did mine used those cheap inline quick connects and they are junk.Spend a little cash and buy the good connectors and save yourself the heartache.I really like mine and like to use the remote start whenever someone starts snooping around the car.Sometimes they jump and yell and othertimes they look closer inside for a driver hiding somewhere. | I don't know about your remote start setup, but the tach was optional on mine, and I didn't hook it up. The best way to avoid screwing up a connection is to follow the wire and see where it goes. I spliced my brake wire right by the switch. Some kits come with a probe to check the wires for voltage on the suspect wires, its a big help. | |

| I gotta give you credit. The one thing I'll never attempt is electrical stuff. I'd rather pay someone to have it done right. Hell, I was nervous running wire for my Riv console... | |

I had a wiring chart to help me out.. i love electrical stuff.. and plus it helped cause like i said i took out all the security system wires and all i wanted was the remote start, unlock and lock..

| While I can live without keyless entry and remote starters, I can see where they would be useful. I still have the fob from my wife's last jellybean Taurus (99, dark blue, most horrible POS we owned I think). Kids liked to swipe it and make the horn blow from inside the house. And pop the trunk. And lock the doors so the lights would blink. I kept a jump box in the trunk of that car for this purpose.
It might be a nice thing to add to the OCC later on. Leave the AC controls set on cold, walk out of Walmart, car is cooling as we go to it. Makes sense here in TX.

| I see that the name of the kit is Black Widow. Is there a part number associated with your wagon or is a "universal" kit? Any reason it wouldn't work on a 1994 Caprice? I miss keyless entry, so I want both keyless entry and remote start for mine. | |

| While I rarely use the remote start function, I bought my kit and installed it because it had keyless. The lock cylinder on my 1A2 is worn badley and near impossible to unlock, so keyless seemed like a great way to avoid fixing it LOL. | |

| http://blackwidowsecurity.com/userPDF/BWRAS651.pdf thats the manual for it.. youll find everything on the website.. blackwidowsecurity.com the one that i got that was very very simple was the BWRAS651 which is the manual above for the one i have.. and yes it is a universal kit.. The first post that 95BRMW posted.. click them ones and it tells you where to wire them up too.. very simple.. cant stress it enough.. | |

| alright.. i ran into a bit of a stump.. ok well you know when you turn on the car you have to manually turn on the defrost.. well me thinkin when i installed this on the blower motor that it would come on automatically.. obviously not the case.. now my question is.. off the back of that "h.v.a.c" unit.. is there a wire comming off the back of that for the deforst running to the steering colum.. if not the colum somewhere else?.. | |
