| After advice by some very knowledgeable people on this forum, I decided to paint my rotors before installing them. Let me know what you guys think! Started with this... Masking First Coat Second Coat Nothing fancy but I wanted to keep the stock looking color. | |

| Looks good! They will "pop" once you get those SS wheels on (are you gonna use SS wheels?)

| Now you could hit them with some sand paper on the front and rear face to get back down to metal. Although, some let the pads do that. Looks great! Shoulda gone with bright red though. Juss sayin. (not really) | |

| Looks nice. Did you get paint down in the air vanes? I don't know how bad it is in Rochester, but syracuse eats the crap out of rotors. I think the Chinese metallurgy is even worse, because I know guys that are replacing theirs every 18 months here due to rust alone. That's why I'm such a big advocate of painting.
BTW, glad you covered the threads and the bearing races. I was hoping you'd figure out that there are some places paint doesn't belong! | |

| Thanks for the compliments guys! I am still working on the wheels. I stripped the clear off one but there is stuff that was under the clear and is not coming off still. Even tried some steel wool and it did not get rid of it. I might bite the bullet and have them sand blasted/powder coated as close to the polished aluminum color as possible. - sherlock9c1 wrote:

| The air vanes is the gap between the braking surfaces to help keep the rotor cool. | |

| Lol...those are Corvette rotors. You can't really see the fruits of his labor because of his wheels. | |

| For powdercoat, go with "Almost Chrome." I've used it before and it looks like polished aluminum. Ok, maybe poorly polished aluminum, but it's what I'll be doing with my SS wheels over the winter. | |
