Put my rotors on Empty
PostSubject: Put my rotors on   Put my rotors on Icon_minitimeSat Sep 17, 2011 1:34 pm

So I took the time today to put all my new parts on today. New slotted and drilled rotors, Rabestos calpiers, bearings, ceramic pads, seals, and brake hoses. I still have to do the rear but I will save that for another weekend. I have new shoes, drums, wheel cylinders and the hose as well.

Cleaned the master cylinder then put new brake fluid in it. I was wondering if they make anything for the brake fluid to improve it? They seems to do it for everything else why not this. If so let me know and I will get some before I do the rears.

I heard that the royal purple stuff is an upgrade, but I wouldn't know. I usually just pull the parachute when I want to slow down that hard.

Use DOT 4 and you should be good. Do not use DOT 5. It does not play well with anti-lock brakes.

Just a new/re-manufactured master cyl. will make the brakes feel better when you've got a 15 year old car with a bunch of miles on it. Vacuum bleed the brakes, run a few qts' through the system, and it will feel a lot better.... Probably.

For a paint guy I would have thought that the calipers would be painted up nice.... I'm disappointed. Smile

If the rims had bigger holes in them to show the brake system I would have but Since both sets of rims are dam near solid I opted to leave it alone. Sorry to disapoint ya' ahhh no I ain't. LOL!
