Well, I felt a little bad doing this mod a few days ago....Mike had just done some exhaust work on the wagon before I got it. BUT it was way too quiet for me. I just had the stock muffler removed and left everything else as he had it. (cat/Ypipe/resonator)
Sounds good! No drone on the HWY and not too loud at all. I can take some better short vid clips in the daylight once I am back on my feet 100% (recovering from a bad flu at the moment)
Planning on having a lot of fun times with the OCC. Will be taking it Christmas Tree hunting son and hopefully taking it to Louisville for Christmas too.
Chris

So when does the muffler come in the mail? Actually, a certain Cruiser now residing in Canada has this exact same mod. I always liked it.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I was afraid you would ask for the muffler Mike. Lol
It really has a nice sound to it. Seems to run a little better to. But that could be in my head.

sounds great!...I am wondering what ours will sound like if I remove the resonators and have just the magnaflows? maybe too loud?

Well, I deleted the resonators on my old '95 and '96 RMW. Here is some video of that. (with Summit Turbo mufflers though) Not very good quality sound clips...but it might give you some kind of idea? I am sure others can come up with better clips! I will be able to once my '96 is up and running.

that does help, Thanks! I think I may try it, but cut it so I can re-connect if the magnaflows are too obnoxious.

Here are my clips for comparison.
Stock manifolds/cats with 2.5" catback, summit turbos (the rattle has been fixed)

I will have to take a video of the car now, cuz it sounds like that about now WITH the resonators...lol. I will take a vid this weekend cuz it will give me a good excuse to use our new camcorder, and post up a new thread.

May the veterans of this forum, have mercy on my soul for bringing this thread back to life... This is an oldie but goodie. Having recently done exhaust work, its helpful too.

I love Chris's Hollywood quality video of the OCC...from back in the pre-Jade days.

Little quick exhaust video I made with Eddie in 2014. I sound like a goof in it... Ha-Ha-Ha, but the car still sounds good!
'96 Roady, stock pipes, with Flowmaster 40's added, retained the rear resonators, polished stock tips. Quiet inside, no drone, burbles like a Chris Craft from the back, love it. Wheee!

Ha...we were just about flat broke and renting a tiny garage apartment then...I was so excited when the muffler shop did this for $20. I had my little Cannon Power Shot and MacBook / iMovie. Now we can film and edit something like this on a smartphone in minutes and post it out to the world....yet no time.

LOL!
I wonder if I should do this on my Outback.....humm.....

Chris I loved seeing the OCC gauges in action there. Makes me really miss my '92! Olds got those so right!
And yep, the video deserves an Oscar! Ha!

Yeah he gets his learner's permit this year. I may end up regretting some of the things I've done with my cars around him!

Flat 6's don't sound too bad, especially if you like Corvairs or Porsche 911's
