Florida Wagonfest 2013

Alright so, here's the deal.

DATE: MARCH 23-24 2013

Contacted LaQuinta a couple of times, so far, no call back. A bit of a bummer, but the Quality Inn contacted me back.

CALL (386) 255-3661 to book your rooms.

Mention you are with the "Wagon Forum" to get our rate. We have 10 rooms. If you book, post here!

Hotel Address:

Daytona Beach, FL 32114

Cliff notes:

$64 plus tax per night ($5 more than LQ)
A block of 10 rooms
No charge for unused rooms (but we better get all 10 filled... right? RIGHT?!)
Last day to book will be FEBRUARY 22nd
Can cancel as close as 24 hours in advance without penalties.
Microwaves and fridges in each room (the better to store our beer, right? )
Reserve with a credit card; can pay cash or whatever at the hotel (pretty standard).

Costs you $25 and you get in for both days, the 23rd and 24th. $30 at the gate. Last day to pre-register is March 2nd. So basically get your registration and hotel done at the same time. You'll have to send photos, according to the site, but that wasn't an issue for me even when my car was beat up and faded and chalkboarded. I'm pretty sure we qualify as "unique vehicles after 1980" lol.

So... WHO'S GOING?!

^^^Longer range planning needed no doubt. Me, I just hop in the car 3 hours before I wanna be there.

OH, I'm all in as I got Friday off work as a vacation day, and WON"T get there so late as the last two years. (leaving early in the AM)

HOw about a phone number for the hotel? THat'd be helpful. I know Ray is going to check into their BBQ policy

Working on it. Contacting them Monday to finalize. I was busy all day, and the manager I spoke with is out on Sunday.

I have browsed though all the florida wagon fest posts and have not found one shred of information on were in florida this is taking place. Is it a secret meeting? If not, posting its location not just the date might be a good idea. IMHO of course.

The first post in this thread has a link to register which is held at the Daytona International Speedway.

What's the Date? The link to the registration never loads...?

I just found out about this on my introduction thread, so I will try to get there. I'd just like to see all of the cars for now. I had been to some kicking car shows there in the past.

For the track's registration, do we enter a club we are affiliated with?

No club affiliation when you register!! Reson for this is the official clubs that reserve a parking area (as in they pay extra $$ to have an area). The area we use is the same one we did have as the impala club. It's far enough out in the field where late comers can park with us, we had no issues last year with parking.

First post updated with more info. They are sending me the contract so I can send it off and get us ready to reserve tomorrow.

Also, they are BBQ friendly, but they warn that if we bring a trailer, parking might be tight.

We drive wagons, WE CAN MASTER PARKING.

Basically, the picture thing is to keep your Mom's Camry from parking on the show field.

It's been proven tat our wagons are plenty cool enought for the field. They've let me in every year. This the first year I will repeat a wagon ( last 4 yrs brought a different on each year)

So are we all set on the hotel front?

Not wagon related but my buddy is looking for sheetmetal parts for his 2004 Ford F250HD Typical fenders doors and rear doors and tailgate. Not sure if you planing on doing other items rather than wagon stuff.

Both cars registered and a KING room reserved....

NOTE: The "wagon Forum" block is for 2 double beds. If you are married (and want to remain that way) you can't use the blocked rooms. I got a King for $73.99 a night.

Just made reservations at the hotel.

There are only 3 rooms left in our wagon block, the lady said there were no more after that. The cut off date was the 22nd, she didn't say anything to me (26th). Don't hesitate.

Oh that's nice to know they're still taking reservations.

When I reserved a few weeks ago the lady there told me there was one room left, hmmm....

I made my reservation yesterday at about 3 or so, and the woman said that there was one more room left.

2.5 weeks till FEST!!! Rush mods to completion, lol.

I still need to get my car back! Lol

Got the time off of work. Need to register with the show and get an alignment on the cadoooo.

Tim you better call the hotel--NOW, to see if they even have a spot.

If anyone doesn't have a place to stay in Daytona, I have a spare room and I am about 45 minutes north of Daytona. Friday, Sat or Sun would be fine with me. Glenn
