If anyone doesn't have a place to stay in Daytona, I have a spare room and I am about 45 minutes north of Daytona. Friday, Sat or Sun would be fine with me. Glenn
Now there's a good guy!

I guess I missed the pre reg date of march 2. I shouldn't have a problem paying at the gate right?

Nope. You'll be fine. It's just $30 instead of $25.

Can anybody tell me a little about what to expect at the event? I am staying at the host hotel, but have never been to this show before. Is it like a Goodguys show, with lots of cars and vendors? And, since I forgot to pre register, I will definately not have a problem going into the event with my Fleetwood? Do we all drive in as a group and park in an assigned area? If so, very cool!!

The area isn't assigned, but we always tend to get the same spot. It's basically like a Goodguys show, in what you describe. There are vendors, a a car corral (vehicles for sale), food, drink, and thousands of cars. We do drive in as a group, and I'm sure you will be perfectly fine with your Fleetwood. Not pre-registering will cost you an extra $5, but oh well. That's one less fattening hotdog to buy at the track. lol
This will be my 3rd year in a row going. It's always a good time.

Thanks Sting, I look forward to meeting you and the guys soon. I am hoping to be at the hotel later Friday morning. I will probably hit the Tampa yard on the way back home Sunday afternoon, and hopefully go to the one you say is close to the event Friday before they close. Anybody want to try and make an organized trip from the hotel to the yard? Even if there is no B/D body stuff, I am always on the lookout for stuff for my 78 Coupe De Ville.

I'm down for that. I'll be arriving at the hotel as soon as check in is (whatever time that is... I should probably ask) and would be willing to head to the yard from there.

Years past we always have met up with the Impala guys near I-95 at 8AM and drive in a 8:15Am I will get with Tim (pres of SOFASST aka Wagondude) to see if they are on that plan this year. That spot is only a few min from the hotel. We may just go from the hotel this year, I dunno.
The spot we occupy is sort of away from the middle of things, yet really close too. By using this spot we have ample parking for anyone that comes late (and is close to the bathrooms!)
As for what to expect. Expect to walk ....ALOT! As mentioned huge amounts of vendors, cars and cars for sale. Wear comfy shoes. Also if you have a pop up tent shade thingy, you may want to bring it along with a couple of chairs. I bring a cooler with snacks/lunch ($6 hot dogs get old quick!)
After the show (5 ish) we head back to the hotel and we grille at the hotel (more details to follow on that one, but last year we pooled up some money and made a supermarket run for steaks and such - was 10 or 12 bucks if I recall). Sit around and talk more about cars, lol.
Sunday the show is open and many go back. If you want to drive on the track, it's Sunday afternoon.
Friday I plan on arriving around noonish and would like to make a yard run with others, and maybe catch sunset near the beach or River for a photo op (sun over water at river, not beach).

I'm making a contingency plan in case my car isn't ready to go down. Is anyone driving past or near Orlando on Monday after the show who could drop me off at the airport? I'll gladly pay for time/gas/tolls.

What's wrong with your car that it wont be "ready"? Doesn't need to be a show stopper. My Fleetwood is far from a show car that ain't stopping me. I was gonna take my wagon and that thing looks like hell. Not road worthy enough to be taking the little one with me in it that many miles though.

Still need to swap the rear. And in case I end up getting sidelined with that I still want to go to the show. Plus the car is still in storage. I was going to take it out tomorrow but the snow killed that plan.

Justin, bring that rear to my shop one night and let's get the damn thing done. No excuses! Also, you don't NEED to swap that rear to make the show with your car.

Details to follow but we mostly meet up and drive in together. Usually, it's a spot near I-95 but the hotel is closer to the track. I need to make a few calls before a final decision is made for the meet up location. In either event plan on an 8AM meet up near the track.
If you are late (and we hope you aren't), where we park there is usually ample parking nearby for late comers.

drive in map for Sat morning. Meet at hotel 2250 Speedway Blvd (next to Pep Boys).
As the road is divided we can only head west out of the parking lot, so we will use the big wrap around the back to the entrance. There are only a couple of lights this way so easier to stick together.

sprocket just a suggestion head east in the parking lot till you hit a light , then go east on 92 and make a right turn near the airport , then you go in gate 70 i believe . it will be much easier

I was looking at the street view on google to see if the hotel lot connected to the Pep Boy's lot but it looks like there is a wall there.
Also aerial Sattelite is showing a severe lack of grass on the hotel site This could have some bad implications for our BBQ plans... I will call the hotel todya and see.

I got the car washed and inside detailed today. Parts for members loaded, chair, shade canopy, and special surprise loaded. Meat on ice. Picking up grille on way out of town Friday. If all goes well I'll be up there noonish on Friday.

Ill be the fool in the white Caddy. I'm kind of shy and don't talk much. So, come introduce yourself so I don't feel like a stranger like I have at the few wagon fests I've attended lol... I've already met some of you in NY. I've met you Sprocket. Hope to make some friends.

How close is the junk yard to the hotel? And, what is it called? I just did the mapquest, and I don't think I will be at the hotel until 1:30-2:00 Friday. Is that too late to go the yard? Anybody have any plans for Friday night? Could I ask any more questions?

Flights into where? If I remember right, there is no good airport to fly into Daytona? I'd need a rental...
EDIT: And I just re-checked... Flights are still over 500 bucks round trip! WTF???
Face booked my number. Call for options

The junk yard is LKQ and is less than a mile west of I95 on International Speedway Blvd. Just got back. B-body cars in stock - a 94 Caprice 9c1 front end hit, a 93 RMS. $2 entry, U-pull-it.
