| Drive the Glen.... formerly Thunder Road Tour. Everything stays the same, but the name, and group discount.
Members going:
1.Mike Lawrenz - 200OZ 2.John - Big Wagon Guy 3.Tim - BigBlackBeaSSt 4.Dan - bigbluey88 5.John -mtrhead79 6.Justin -Cadet57???? 7.Kevin -wagoncollector 8. 9. 10.
It's 3 paced laps around the famed road coarse, 55mph.... or so, depends on who's pacing this year, and/or how far you hang back. We can line the wagons up on the starting grid for a group shot after the 2nd lap, so bring your cameras/phones.
Drive the Glen will be Friday July 25th 4:30pm, check in at gate #2.
$25.00 each car, If we get 15 or more cars the price drops to $20.00 per car.
We can all drive down together, leaving from the Geneva Wegman's (for last minute pit stops) parking lot at 2:30-2:45pm, stopping in the village of Watkins Glen at "The Shop" to get the tickets, and then heading to the track. It's a nice scenic ride down the west side of Seneca Lake that will take about 45-50 minutes.
For those of you meeting us at the track, pm me we will work out the ticket purchasing.
Passengers of any age are welcome to ride along, so bring the kids.....
This isn't racing, but it's not a Sunday drive either. It's more like driving in a Florida rush hour.... So, Check your brakes!.... and the rest of the car, the Glen does not like spilled fluids on the track. Make sure you're car is up to this.
The meeting place info: Geneva Wegman's 300 Hamilton St Rt 5 & 20 just west of rt 14 Geneva , NY 14456 (315) 781-5800

.....and carless/reckless, don't use turn signals, don't tie down cargo, all while on bald tires. You Floridians are just awful drivers in general. Lots of young people, and old people, the two groups most likely to have a mishap on the road. | |

I got some news for you Mike, those old folks in fla are probably from NY and retired. The kind of driving you mention is everywhere you look including NY and VA. |

| Scoot straight down NY Rt 14 (exit 42) without stopping at Wegmans, and add a heavier shoe to the right foot. Maybe get Mike's cell phone number (200OZ) to tag up. | |

| It looks like the timing is right for this if I pick up the pace a bit. Last year you guys all passed me in town on your way out. Mike, I'll shoot you a PM. I'm thinking I can meet you at "The Shop" at Watkins Glen. I just fixed my oil leak... Only fly in the ointment is I may need to either unload or stack down my cargo before the lap. You know... race preparation. | |

| Welp I'm out. My intake decided this week would be a great time to tell me I didn't seal it enough. It has a bit of an oil leak. | |

| Yeah. Not enough to skip the Fest, but enough that The Glen would probably be upset with me. | |

| If anyone cares, the Fastrac gas station has non-ethanol 91 octane fuel right across the street from Wegman's. It's $4.17 a gal.
Fastrac Markets 371 Hamilton St Geneva, NY 14456
See all you Glen goers tomorrow, and a reminder, make sure your brakes are good to go.

| H here's one from a few years past. Wagons up through the esses at The Glen. Note the sedan is not winning, but the a big black killer whale of a wagon is. All bow to the Prince of Whales, Shammoo. | |
