I replaced my fenders and and front doors with ones from a sedan, that did away with those holes, lol. Will have the remaining large holes (6 in total) welded up eventually. As for the little pins, I snipped the heads off with a pair of cutters and ground the remaining stud flush with the panel. Gonna apply some filler, smooth it all out and they will be gone.
It's funny. I want to get rid of the wood. But then I second guess myself and would want to be able to put it back on if I ever change directions with the car

I thought about it and really wanted to keep the wood on the car when I first got it. Eventually though it just looked very tacky to me (probably because the trim was messed up) and people at work laughing about it didn't help, lol. I decided it had to go and am happy with the choice. I think the wood looks good on other colors, just not the white ones.

Yeah my wagon is white too. My original idea was to have new "wood" made, something similar to the Kingswood wagons from the 70's. There is a restored kingswood in town thats white with this dark brown wood trim and it looks awesome.

Well, no work today on the wagon...but I was able to make a run to Pull a Part in Atlanta (north one) to find my much needed heat shields. They just got in 2 '94 RMS. I was literally 30 seconds too late to score a nice backup grill. Oh well. How do you yell "hey, I was here 1st" in Spanish?
I did pickup a newish radiator with both cooling fans...all for $45. Crazy prices! If you are in Atlanta, both sedans still have the engines in them including intake and TB (PCM, Waterpump and Opti still in one too) Oh, and I got 2 more of the L99 Oil Cooler adapters too Gonna sell one of 'em.

Thanks guys! It is still slow going, but I made some good progress today!
Today I installed...
*160' Thermostat
*Coolant Hoses (waiting on one little piece for a heater hose still)
*Radiator with dual electric fans
*Wired the new electric fan into the underhood fuse box and PCM (Gary's Wiring Kit..TOTALLY AWESOME to install.)
*Installed all light/horn harnesses and everything is clipped in (finally)
*new hood struts
*Trans Cooling lines and external trans cooler
*Airbag sensor on radiator support (yeah, learned that the LT1s have a different hood latch area..so I had to make some screw holes for my sensor until I pick up a replacement bracket)
*RAMAIRSS intake (need to order the lower baffle still)
*New Opti Vent harness
I know those blue hoses are a bit LOUD. But I like 'em. I wish I had the $$ for the red hoses though. Perhaps down the road. I am still waiting on the new flow valve thingee for the lower heater hose. I also still need to modify the factory heater hose brackets to fit these hoses. Was hoping to have the Alternator and Gary's Batt cables in today too, it just got too late.
Sent my PCM off the Herter last week and it should arrive back home Monday. If you need a tune, ask him about the June sale. Don't think its on his site yet...but I was the 1st to jump on it. I decided to stick with my OBD2 computer.

Nice Oldsmaster sedagon.
You know, if I was making a total show car of an LT1 B-body, I would find a way to move the alternator down to where the AIR pump is, and reroute the steam pipe hose so it came up the inner fender instead of right in front.

Lol...thanks guys. I was hoping to get more done, but I am pretty pumped to be this far! My goal is to start it over the 4th of July weekend and take it up the street for exhaust work on 7/5. Crossing fingers!
Nick, I am striving to stand out. *cough*
I like that Joel..Sedagon...! heh
So, my PCM came back from Herter (gotta clean it up a bit now since it has a cool sticker on it)
I also have the little heater hose restrictor valve thingee. Had to get this from GM and it took a while for the local place to get it. So, get one and tuck it away. These tend to bust after time. Had one go one me and the one on my Dad's wagon busted on him as well. Wonder if someone can make a billet one?! Or, do we even need this thing?

Bill..that is a good idea...small pipe will do the job and look so much cleaner!
Ok, so I think TOMORROW is the day this thing will fire up. All I need is fuel, oil and trans fluid now. I worked on hooking up the rest of the underhood stuff today and just ran out of daylight.
Ok, so the Caddy/Buick Sedan horns work (all 4) and so do the lights. I was about to complain about the corner lights until I realized that I did something dumb and will fix it tomorrow. So enjoy the quick Vid and listen to those horns!

i used 1/2 copper tube that i flared a little so hose clamp would not slip off. i also soldered a 1/4 brass threaded piece of pipe inside it as a restricter

The wiring is already in the harness for the Buick sedan, so he had it easy, lol.
Two Horns mount on the driver side and two on the passenger side. The bolt/mount tab holes are in all the inner fender assemblies. I just grabbed the wire from a Buick sedan at the junk yard and and wired into my existing horn wire. Was a very easy job and they just sound too cool

Wagon is alive now...but sounds pretty bad with open exhaust. Lol
My 'Vette starter was bad so I had to get another one at AZone. That shot the exhaust budget for now. So it will sit a bit longer before I take it to the muffler shop. Enjoy!
(oh, the piece of wood is to keep the air intake in place since my lower pieces have not arrived from TX yet)

Awesome Chris!! It feels great when a project roars back to life, doesn't it? Is it just me/an effect of the camera or open headers, or does the idle seem pretty high?
Anyway, congrats on the achievement man! Hope to see it sometime...

Thanks guys! You can only imagine how loud it was under that tin roof carport All the neighbors were coming out to see....haha I was SO RELIEVED that the engine runs smoothly/Opti works/no leaks anywhere. Oh yeah. Siigh.
It started out fast (idle) but calmed down after a bit. (but still might be too high) I did not have the o2 sims and sensors hoked up too...but not sure if that could cause a higher idle off the bat? Humm....I will try it again Sat after I get a couple more things hooked up!

The secondary O2 sensors only serve to verify the operation of the cats and trigger an alert if they are not optimal. It probably sounds high because of the lack of exhaust.

Well, let's see how it does this Sat. If it is still too high...I might need to do some checking on the TPS or make sure the cruise control cable is not too tight....
Thanks Crovo! I remember when you heard my last engine project..ugg. Knock knock. Glad that is behind me!
*cough* Robert, I kinda stole your source (I think you thought about getting these from a mutual buddy at one time) BUT you can get them from the same guy that makes the fuel gauge calibrator!

Gotcha...I didn't know they made O2s sims for Pre Cat!! AND I didn't know you could program the post cat sims out od an OBD2. I wish I knew that earlier!
I bought the collectors with the O2 bungs in them as well since the Summitt collectors seemed a bit cheap on the flanges...

Nothing wrong with a carb.... IF it is adjusted correctly. it's all about the perfect A/F mixture. Computers allow looser tolerances and correct sloppy workmanship all in the name of emissions.

Ok, so today is brake bleeding....alone. Lol
I bought a set of speed bleeders for the front and back. Also bought one of those "one man bleed" thingees. This will be my first time bleeding ALL the lines (that are all new and full of air)
Any advise would be welcome. I know I start at the RRear, LRear, RFront and LFront.
WHOO! Then I can let her down and she how she drives!! (and re-check idle)

Borrow a neighbor's leg and bleed it the old fashioned way. It's the only way I've had any sort of pedal when I'm done.

I cant remember how many vettes that I have gravity bled over the years.First thing I did and everybody in my Gymkana club when we bought another vette was yank all 4 calipers and exchange them for the stainless sleeved versions.Even after the pressure bleeders became affordable we kept gravity bleeding. We always used the silicone fluid and let the brakes gravity bleed for about 2 hours or until we got a steady flow. After closing all the bleeders and topping off the fluid I always had a firm pedal. I only gravity bled when using silicone fluid that doesnt attract moisture the instant it was exposed to the humid air here in VA during the summer. Take Care Flasheroo

HA! I did a little of everything. Lol Gravity bled (with the one man thingee) and then almost grabbed a neighbor's leg. Luckily my Mother'n Law came back from shopping and I said "hey, wanna sit and exercise yer leg for a min!"
I did have the speed bleeders too and that helped. I put in new rear wheel cylinders while I was at it too
IT MOVES AND STOPS!!! But, it still idles too high. Ugg. I still gotta check out the vac hoses...and then the TB. Might do that tomorrow. Drove it up to the gas station and got some pretty weird looks. hehe.
