| Alright so here we go... this poor car has gone through a lot, but by the time I'm done with it - hell, it's not going anywhere. For new people, some background: Bought the car in 2010, it was red over silver with horrible clear coat and wire hubcaps/steel wheels. Then I wanted to go to Daytona, so it got some smoothie hubcaps (which I loved) and some chalkboard paint on the hood for 2011: Then, October '11 somebody thought it would be fun to loosen my lugnuts and I lost a wheel. So it got some new shoes. I liked them better when plastidipped compared to polished, but hey: Well, then for 2012, I wanted to go back to Daytona, but this time - better. So dad and I painted the car. Interior-wise, some upgrades happened as well. Lumina steering wheel, Blazer console, and Bonneville seats, namely: I'll find a better photo of those, but for now, enjoy this one with my dog, Moose. EDIT: At the end of the summer, I got a class 3 hitch because I moved into my own apartment, and needed to transport furniture: New window tint was my birthday present to myself for '12: Then came some new wheels this year, in January: Then... accident #1. Repairs took weeks. Five weeks, to be exact, and they weren't exactly finished anyway, so I took it for Daytona again, had a BLAST, met new people, won a flamingo, etc. Morning of the show, juuuuust out of the paint booth: Posing with its flamingo on Sunday: So I had the car for the week to run some errands, do some things, etc. Then I was going to drop it back off at the shop on Sunday. Well... Friday, this happened: I already have all of the parts, except for a grille and support, but those are on the way too. Here's how she sits today, partially disassembled. I'll use this thread to update the accident progress, etc. etc. etc. Whew, lots of images. |

| The classiest that car has ever been! Can't wait for you to get it done, buddy. You deserve to be without stress for a bit. When it's done, just park it in the driveway and look at it for a couple of weeks. No driving. | |

| He's in Jacksonville, a few miles from my school. Realistically, you could leave it with him and get it done well, and cheap. >_> |

| I really like the way the car looks (well, except for the latest collision mod ). When I look at your avatar, it appears that the flamingo is part of the paint job. I think it would be cool to have the flamingo actually painted on the door. That would flip people out...and it looks great on the black. Just my $.02 | |

Just my $.02 Damn you, Joe! I was just gonna say that! I really dig the way that pic looks and I think a flamingo painted (or vinyled) right there in that same spot, same scale, would look awesome. So much for being original tho...

| Side note:
A few weeks ago I bought a whole beef tenderloin and had it steaked by the butcher. He ground up the left over parts (about 2 lbs worth) and wrapped it on a tray with a blank whie label. I wrote ground Filet Mignon and tossed it in the freezer.
A week later when I was going to WF, my wife and daughter went the other way in FL to the everglades for a camping trip. On the list of stuff to bring my daughter wrote:
Ground Flamingon, which both my wife and dropped the n off the end(as it was printed rather small) and thought it was pretty funny.
Back to satin wagons....

Although I'm not gonna lie, Bill's spider caps and steelies are cool. 17" steelies in the future?
Hmmm... |

Good luck getting it together again. Does not look too bad, should be an easy fix for you, but still...ouch.

| What he really needs is a small flamingo stamp with pink ink. Every time he wins a flamingo, he stamps one below his door handle. | |

| 17" steelies? If you do that, I want those rims. They're cool Accident damage doesn't look too bad overall. The bumper shock bent sideways kinda worries me though. | |

| Frame is straight. The bumper shock was bent because her car got pushed UNDER the steel bumper. Shock took the whole blow.
Shipping would probably kill any wheel deal for you/us though. lol |

| You'll be pulling the U-Haul back from college with it, in a few weeks!
Hasn't looked that good for years, I mean 3 weeks when it won the "People's Choice" award. Looks like it is pretty close.

| Guy says the frame wasn't bent, just the bumper shock itself. I tend to agree with him, because I drove it a few times and it still tracked straight with my hands off the wheel and whatnot, and it didn't feel unstable at 40-50mph (I didn't dare go faster because of the hood, at the time, and even that probably wasn't wise...).

| Ray, glad to see your car is almost done. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation. What are your plans after the big day? Don't freak out if you have not yet found gainful employment. I did not get a real job for several years after I got out of college, and everything turned out just fine. You are a great guy, and I am sure you will find something that will make you happy. Good luck, Mark. | |

| Package arrived today from Ian (a1awind on here). Visited body shop.
Old hood is off and scrapped, new hood is having its ornament hole filled and the body crease put back into it.
Didn't get photos, phone was in my roommate's car. |

| Hood's on it. Shaving ornament hole tonight apparently, then it's ready for paint. Supposed to be back in my hands on Tuesday. Also now you can see what was in Ian's package. |
